Residents and members of the Village Hall Committee from the village of Milburn near Appleby in Eden joined with Eden Community Recycling (ECR) Managing Director Colin Nineham and his wife Lynda to celebrate the installation of the 25th Plastics Recycling Centre serviced by ECR.

The Village Hall Committee received grant aid to install a concrete pad and purchase the plastics bank.

MD Colin Nineham said "this is a true example of a small community pulling together to provide facilities which would otherwise not be available".

The Village Hall benefits from recycling credits paid to them by Eden District Council for the tonnage of paper, card, glass and cans collected from the site, whilst there is no payment on the tonnage of plastic collected historically when a plastics bank is sited all of the other materials increase in volume.
