2 Maximise the effectiveness of the organisation's activities in respect of the environment Collecting, handling, storing, sorting, treating, transfer of 'waste' materials to third parties, use of energy, fuel, water, equipment, vehicles, land, labour, buildings and capital 
  1. Introduce new handling systems
  2. Improve vehicle capacity use 
  3. Identify customers for reusable items such as pallets
